How to Set Up Panchang Push Notifications in Pandit Ji

Pandit Ji can send you a morning panchang briefing, festival alerts, auspicious yoga notifications, and Chandrashtama entry/exit reminders. Here's how to configure each.

Push notifications are one of the best ways to stay connected to the panchang without having to remember to check the app every morning. Pandit Ji offers several notification types — each individually configurable — so you get exactly the alerts that matter to you without noise you don't want.

Enabling Notifications

Go to Settings → Notifications within the Pandit Ji app. If you haven't granted notification permission yet, tap "Enable Notifications" and allow access in the iOS or Android system prompt that appears. You can also manage permissions directly in your device's Settings → Pandit Ji → Notifications.

Morning Panchang Briefing — Free

The morning briefing is a daily summary notification sent at your chosen time — most users set it for 6:00–7:00 AM. Enable the toggle and tap the time row below it to set your preferred delivery time. Pandit Ji shows an iOS spinner or Android native time dialog to set the hour. The notification is generated from your current location's panchang, so it's accurate even when you travel.

Daily Mantra — Free

A separate toggle sends the day's mantra notification at the same time as your morning briefing. Today's mantra is chosen based on the active tithi, any festival, and the weekday — turning on this toggle is the easiest way to start each day with a Sanskrit practice without having to open the app.

Festival & Vrat Alerts — Pro

Festival alerts send a reminder before major Hindu festivals and fasting days. This is a Pro feature — the toggle is dimmed with a "Pro Required" chip for free users, and tapping it navigates to the upgrade screen. Once enabled, alerts respect your chosen Calendar Tradition (Smartha, Vaishnava, or Shaiva) so you get the correct Ekadashi dates and tradition-specific festivals.

Auspicious Yoga Alerts — Pro

Get a notification on days when Amrit Siddhi Yoga or Sarvaartha Siddhi Yoga is active. These are the most powerful auspicious yoga combinations and occur only a handful of times each month. The notification arrives at sunrise so you can plan your important tasks for that window. Pro only.

Chandrashtama Alerts — Pro

Requires a birth profile. When the Moon is approaching the sign that triggers your Chandrashtama, Pandit Ji sends an entry alert so you know the window is starting. You'll also receive an exit alert when it clears. Pro only — the toggle includes a note card below it explaining how Chandrashtama is calculated for your chart.

Put this into practice

Pandit Ji gives you a live panchang, personal guidance from your birth chart, and muhurat timing — calculated for your exact location.
