Pandit Ji's AI features — Ask the Pandit and Daily Guidance — are designed with a simple principle: your personal data is yours. Here is exactly what is sent, when, and why.
Last updated: May 2026
When you ask a question or generate your daily reading, the following context is assembled on your device and sent to the AI. You can reduce this in AI Preferences.
| Data | Why it's included | Required? |
|---|---|---|
| Today's Panchang Tithi, Nakshatra, Yoga, Vara, Rahu Kaal, Abhijit Muhurat, festivals | Grounds every answer in today's actual cosmic conditions | Always |
| Your city Current location selected in the app | Gives the Pandit context about your place in the world | Always |
| Your birth profile Name, date of birth, birth city, Janma Nakshatra, Moon sign, Lagna, current Mahadasha | Enables personalized answers based on your chart | Optional |
| Family member profiles Names and chart details of Parivar members you've saved | Lets you ask questions on behalf of family members | Optional — toggle per question |
| Conversation history Your question and the Pandit's response for the current session | Allows follow-up questions within the same session | While session is open |
The following information is never transmitted to any server, by any feature of Pandit Ji:
| 📵 | Your phone number or Apple/Google account details |
| 💳 | Payment information or subscription details |
| 📍 | Precise real-time GPS location (the app uses your saved city, not live GPS coordinates) |
| 📷 | Photos, contacts, messages, or any other app data |
| 🔑 | Your birth data, when you have not enabled the birth profile AI preference |
Pandit Ji's AI features are powered by Anthropic's Claude. When you ask a question, the context described above is sent to Anthropic's API to generate a response. Anthropic's data processing is governed by their Privacy Policy.
The request passes through Pandit Ji's backend (hosted on Supabase) only to authenticate your credit balance and apply rate limits. The content of your question and your personal context is not stored on Pandit Ji's servers beyond the duration of the request.
To remove your birth data entirely, go to Settings → Birth Information and clear all fields, then tap Save. Your data lives only on your device, so clearing it there is sufficient.
Coming soon: A one-tap Delete birth profile button is on its way to Settings → Birth Information, making this even simpler.
