How Daily Guidance Personalization Works in Pandit Ji
The Seeker home screen shows 3 personalized guidance cards that adapt to your feedback over time. Here's how the personalization engine works and how to tune it.
If you're in Seeker view, the Today screen shows three guidance cards each morning — each one connecting today's panchang to something practical. These cards aren't randomly selected: they're ranked by a personalization engine that learns what content matters to you. Here's how it works and how to tune it.
Card Types
Pandit Ji generates several types of guidance cards from the daily panchang:
- Mantra — Today's Sanskrit mantra with its meaning and why it's relevant to today's tithi or festival.
- Timing (Do) — An auspicious window today: Abhijit Muhurat, an Amrit Choghadiya, or an Amrit Siddhi Yoga window — with a suggested activity to align with it.
- Avoid — A caution card for Rahu Kaal, Chandrashtama (if you have a birth profile), or an inauspicious yoga — with a simple "avoid starting new things during this window" guidance.
- Reflection — A contemplative insight tied to the nakshatra or tithi quality for today.
How Feedback Shapes Your Feed
Every guidance card has thumbs-up and thumbs-down buttons. Thumbs-up increases the weight of that card type in future rankings; thumbs-down decreases it. Over time, if you consistently thumbs-up timing cards and ignore mantras, the three-card selection will shift toward timing-dominant content. You can also dismiss a card for the day without affecting the personalization weights — useful when a card is valid but not relevant to you specifically today.
This personalization was seeded during onboarding (the "What helps you most?" step let you select which card types resonated), but it's continuously refined by your in-app feedback.
Turning Off Daily Guidance
If you prefer to use Pandit Ji purely as a panchang tool, go to Settings → AI & Privacy → Daily Guidance and turn off the master switch. The guidance cards disappear from the Seeker home screen. All other features — panchang, muhurat, kundali, Ask the Pandit — are unaffected. You can re-enable it at any time.
Pandit Ji gives you a live panchang, personal guidance from your birth chart, and muhurat timing — calculated for your exact location.
