Cloud Sync in Pandit Ji: What Syncs, What Doesn't, and How to Control It

Pandit Ji's account system lets you sync birth profiles, Ask the Pandit history, credits, and preferences across devices — with per-category control over what leaves your device.

Pandit Ji·May 13, 2026

Pandit Ji is designed to work entirely offline and on-device — your birth data never leaves your phone unless you explicitly enable it. But if you use the app on multiple devices or want to back up your Parivar profiles and Ask the Pandit history, signing in and enabling cloud sync takes care of all of it.

Signing In

Tap Settings → Sign In (the top row of the Settings screen). Pandit Ji supports sign-in via email — just enter your address and tap the one-time code that arrives in your inbox. No password required. Anonymous usage is fully supported; signing in is only needed if you want cloud sync or cross-device access.

What Can Sync (Four Categories)

Once signed in, go to Settings → your account row → Account screen. You'll see four independent sync toggles under "Cloud Sync":

Turning a Category Off

You can disable any sync category at any time. When you turn off a toggle for a category that's currently synced, the app shows a confirmation: "Remove from Cloud" — this deletes that category's data from Pandit Ji's servers but keeps it on your current device. This is the correct action if you want to go back to fully local-only storage for a given category.

Signing Out

Tapping "Sign Out" at the bottom of the Account screen signs you out on the current device. Your locally stored data (birth profiles, history, preferences) remains on the device. If sync was enabled, the server copy remains until you explicitly delete it or disable sync categories before signing out.

Who Should Enable Sync

Cloud sync is most valuable if you: use Pandit Ji on more than one device, have recently changed phones and want to restore your Parivar profiles, or are a Pro user who wants their credit balance to persist across devices. If you use the app on a single device and aren't concerned about backup, local-only is perfectly fine and maximizes privacy.

Put this into practice

Pandit Ji gives you a live panchang, personal guidance from your birth chart, and muhurat timing — calculated for your exact location.
