Estimate Your Birth Time in Pandit Ji (Birth Time Rectification Tool)

Don't know your exact birth time? Pandit Ji's appearance-based rectification tool estimates your birth Lagna through a 7-question quiz and narrows down a likely birth window.

A precise birth time is needed to calculate your Lagna (ascendant sign) and accurate house placements in your kundali. Many people don't have their birth time from a certificate or hospital record. Pandit Ji's birth time estimation tool uses a 7-question appearance and personality quiz to narrow down your likely Lagna — and from that, a best-guess birth time.

How the Tool Works

In Vedic astrology, the Lagna changes every 2 hours as a new sign rises on the eastern horizon. Each ascending sign imprints characteristic physical features, body type, and personality tendencies. The estimation tool asks you questions about your appearance and constitution to identify which sign most likely describes your rising sign.

Once it identifies the probable Lagna, it works backwards through your birth date and location to estimate the time window when that sign was rising — giving you a best-guess birth time to enter into your chart.

Running the Estimation

Go to Settings → Birth Info and tap "Estimate time." The tool opens a 7-step quiz. Each question shows several options with descriptive labels. You can skip any question you're unsure about — skipped questions simply leave more uncertainty in the result — and you can go back to change an answer at any step.

After answering, tap "Estimate" to see your result: the most likely Lagna and an estimated birth time you can apply directly to your profile.

Accuracy Notes

This tool gives a starting point, not a guaranteed answer. Lagna characteristics overlap between signs, and appearances vary widely within any Lagna due to other chart factors. The estimated time should be taken as a best guess — ideally narrowed further by comparing dasha timing against known life events.

If you have any partial information (like "born in the morning around 9am" or "born at night"), entering that manually is always more reliable than estimating from scratch. The tool is most useful when you have no time information at all.

After Getting Your Estimate

Tap "Use this time" to populate the birth time field in your Birth Info screen. Your kundali, Mahadasha timeline, and all personalized features update immediately to reflect the estimated time. You can always come back and update the time if you find a more accurate source later.
