Cosmic Events: Tracking Planetary Transits and Retrogrades in Pandit Ji
The Cosmic Events section in the Festivals tab shows upcoming planetary transits, retrogrades, and Vedic yogas — with personalized impact cards based on your Moon sign.
Every few weeks, a planet changes signs, begins a retrograde, or forms a rare Vedic yoga. These shifts affect the background tone of everyday life — and in traditional Jyotisha, knowing when they happen helps you time decisions and set expectations. Pandit Ji's Cosmic Events section tracks them all in one place, personalized to your rashi.
Where to Find Cosmic Events
Open the Festivals tab. Scroll past the upcoming festival list to the Cosmic Events section (marked with ✦). It shows the next 8 significant planetary events sorted by date — a mix of ingress transits (a planet entering a new sign), retrograde stations (a planet slowing to reverse direction), and Vedic yogas (rare multi-planet configurations).
Types of Events
- Ingress — A planet moves from one rashi to another. For example, Jupiter entering Gemini marks a 13-month shift in where expansion and opportunity flow.
- Retrograde — A planet appears to reverse direction from Earth's perspective. Retrogrades are known for delays, review cycles, and revisiting the past. Mercury retrograde is the most frequent; Saturn and Jupiter retrogrades last months.
- Vedic Yoga — A configuration formed by two or more planets in a specific relationship — for example, a Raja Yoga (combination associated with authority and success) or Guru-Chandal Yoga (Jupiter conjunct Rahu). These are rarer and carry more concentrated meaning.
Personalized Impact: "Affects Your Rashi" Banner
If you have a birth chart set up in Pandit Ji, your Moon sign is used to assess how each transit directly affects your chart. Events that fall in your Moon sign, the sign opposite yours, or in particularly sensitive positions for your rashi are flagged with an "Affects your rashi" banner.
Tapping an Event Card
Tap any card to open its detail view, which shows:
- The event title, the planet(s) involved, and the exact date
- A plain-language summary of what the transit typically means
- The rashis most likely to feel the effect, with a brief note on what to watch for in each
- A traditional remedy if one applies — a mantra, fasting day, or simple ritual aligned with the planet involved
Setting Up for Personalization
Cosmic Events personalization requires a Moon sign. If you have birth data entered, it's derived automatically. Otherwise, complete Settings → Birth Info or use the rashi picker in the Daily Guidance screen to set your Moon sign manually.
Pandit Ji gives you a live panchang, personal guidance from your birth chart, and muhurat timing — calculated for your exact location.
