Today's Teaching: Daily Vedic Teachings in Pandit Ji
The Guru Teachings feature surfaces a daily video or talk matched to today's panchang and your spiritual spectrum. Here's how it works and what to expect.
Alongside panchang data and guidance tools, the Guidance tab in Pandit Ji includes a daily teaching — a short video, bhajan, mantra recitation, or talk from a teacher or tradition relevant to today's tithi and vara (weekday deity). The goal is to surface authentic Vedic content that fits the tone of the day, not a generic spiritual feed.
Finding Today's Teaching
Open the Guidance tab. The "Today's Teaching" card shows the teacher's name or organization and the format (Talk, Bhajan, Mantra, Story, etc.). Tap it to open the full teaching view.
What the Teaching Screen Shows
- Title, teacher name, and organization
- A format badge indicating the type of content (Clip, Bhajan, Mantra, Aarti, Talk, Story, Guided, Discourse)
- An inline YouTube player to watch or listen without leaving the app
- A summary drawn from the teaching's transcript — a brief description of the content
- A clear attribution line: "Source: [teacher] · [org]" with a tappable link to the original so you can find the full channel or resource
How Teachings Are Matched
Each day's teaching is selected based on the current tithi, the weekday deity (e.g., Thursday is Guru's day, Saturday is Shani's), the app language (English or Hindi), and your position on the Seeker–Practitioner spectrum. A seeker-oriented user gets more accessible introductory content; a practitioner-oriented user gets more traditional discourses and deeper teachings.
Teaching History
Tap the history icon in the teaching header to open Teaching History — a chronological list of past teachings you've opened. This lets you return to a talk you wanted to finish or revisit a bhajan from earlier in the week.
Ads and Pro
Free users see an ad banner below the teaching content. Pro subscribers get the full teaching view without ads.
