AI & Privacy Settings: Exactly What Data Ask the Pandit Can See
Pandit Ji's AI & Privacy screen lets you control four independent data toggles for what Ask the Pandit can access. Here's what each one does and why it matters.
When you ask a question in Ask the Pandit, the AI can optionally use your personal data — panchang, location, and birth chart — to give a personalized answer. None of this data is shared automatically or stored on Pandit Ji's servers. The AI & Privacy screen gives you four independent switches to control exactly what gets included when you send a question.
Finding the Settings
Go to Settings → AI & Privacy. You'll see two sections: "Ask the Pandit" and "Daily Guidance."
Ask the Pandit Toggles
Share Panchang
When enabled, today's tithi, nakshatra, yoga, and other panchang elements are included with each question. This allows the AI to give timing-aware answers — for example, noting that today's nakshatra is particularly favorable for the activity you're asking about. Disabling this means the AI answers from general Jyotisha knowledge only, without knowing what today's sky looks like.
Share Location
When enabled, your city name is included with each question. This allows the AI to give location-aware answers — for example, referencing your local sunrise time or acknowledging that you're observing a regional festival. The AI receives your city name only, not your exact GPS coordinates.
Share My Chart
When enabled, your birth chart details — Janma Nakshatra, Lagna, Moon sign, and current Mahadasha — are included with each question. This is what enables truly personalized answers. Without it, Ask the Pandit answers as a general Jyotisha resource rather than as a pandit who knows your chart.
Share Family Charts
When enabled and when you've switched the active profile to a family member, that person's chart data is included instead of yours. This allows you to ask questions on behalf of your spouse, child, or parent using their actual birth data. Disabling this means family questions are answered without chart context even if you've selected a family member's profile.
Daily Guidance Toggle
The Daily Guidance section has a single master switch that turns the AI horoscope feature on or off entirely. If you prefer to use Pandit Ji purely as a panchang tool without the AI-generated daily guidance cards, turn this off. The panchang, muhurat, kundali, and Ask the Pandit features are completely unaffected.
Data Handling
Your birth data is stored only on your device. When you send an Ask the Pandit question, the enabled data categories are included in that single API call and are not retained by the server after the response is generated. Turning off any toggle takes effect immediately — the next question you send will not include that data category.
Pandit Ji gives you a live panchang, personal guidance from your birth chart, and muhurat timing — calculated for your exact location.
